Description
This contour data layer represents contours at 1-foot intervals and index contours at 5-foot intervals created from DTM data points collected as part of the Town of Dedham, Stormwater Management Plan Project by Chas H. Sells, Inc under contract to Woodard and Curran in 2000 with extensive QA/QC by Applied Geographics, Inc. The data layer was originally created using data from the Lockwood 330-scale flyover of April 8, 1998.
The contours were generated from a photogrammetrically compiled digital terrain model (DTM) using a Terrain Modeling Package (KLT/Atlas TIN). The planimetric features were used to collect the DTM data. The horizontal coordinates and vertical values of mass points were used within a grid of 50 ft. Breaklines were captured at road edges, tops and bottom of slopes and other breaklines to help define the DTM to create a Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN). The generated contours were smoothed to create aesthetically pleasing line work.
